SEASON PASS COLLECTION - CSA SNOW SHOW AND SALE
As per usual, we’re at the CSA Snow Show and Sale this weekend, 15th and 16th May at Addington Raceway in Christchurch. The sale is open from 9am to 4pm each day, 2nd hand gear drop is on the Saturday while the gear is sold on the Sunday – first in best dressed!
This season, for those who’ve purchased an early-bird season pass, and provided a relevant photo, we’ll have your pass ready for collection from the Porters stand at the CSA sale. You’ll be able to collect your pass on Saturday or Sunday, please be patient if we are busy at the stand.
If you are a student, you must bring your full-time student identification, which must prove that you are a full time student. If you’re unable to prove your full-time status, your pass will not be issued until you do so. Thanks for your understanding.
PORTERS PASSPORT 2010
For those of you who are new to skiing or snowboarding, or anyone who has a friend who would like to give it a try, you need to know about the Porters Passport.
Created in 2007, the passport programme is designed for those who haven’t skied or snowboarded before. Set out aver a four day period (any four days in season), participants receive discounted beginner packages - including lift access, equipment hire, and a lesson. On completion of the programme, the participant is gifted a season pass for the current season, for them to utilise the ski area for the balance of that winter season!
It’s a very popular programme, and it’s fantastic that we’re able to assist new people into the sport in a fun, progressive environment. For more information, get online and check out the Porters Passport for yourself.
PORTERS VOLLEY PATROL 2010
Recently, we introduced you to Dave Lundin – Porters Patrol Director for the upcoming winter 2010. Busy getting ready for winter, Dave is putting the finishing touches on his plans around the Porters Volunteer Patroller programme, which will commence at the start of the winter season.
We’ve put together some relevant information, along with the low-down from Dave on what’s involved, and how you or someone you know can get involved. Check it out for yourself, jump online to our website and head to our Snow Safety page for more information, contact details, and a video of an avalanche rescue dog in action at Porters.
