Good news! Porters will open the lower mountain tomorrow, just in time for the school holidays. As you know, the weather has been quite changeable lately, with unseasonably warm conditions. Luckily, our snowmakers and groomers have been working steadily to cover the beginner areas and Easy Street.
The Beginners Carpet Lift, the Platter Lift and the Easy Rider Chair will run, offering reasonable snow cover for beginners and intermediate skiers. The ever-popular Kidsfest Beginners’ Fun programme will also start tomorrow and continue throughout the school holidays. The instructing programmes begin a week later, on Monday 18th of July.
The forecast shows a decent storm coming our way by the middle of next week, which hopefully will bring the snow we've all been waiting for. We then anticipate to have more terrain open for advanced skiers and boarders.
All base facilities and services are operational- café, snow sports school, rental department and shop. There will be a shuttle bus leaving the chain fitting area on the hour from 9am – 11am (every day during the holidays and when chains are required).
We are really delighted to get underway and pleased we can open for the children and families that have been looking forward to their winter break in the snow. We hope to see you up here soon!
