It has been a stormy week so far, with strong winds resulting in a couple of closed days. Whilst frustrating, snow doesn’t come without a storm, and we’re eagerly awaiting a change in the gradients and temperatures that are forecast to bring snow in the coming days.

We received 10cm of fresh snow on Wednesday and there is more snow forecast, with a Southerly change in the coming days.
Currently we have limited terrain on offer, with the beginner carpet, intermediate platter, and T-1 up to tower 7 running. Conditions are perfect for those new to snow-sports, or for those looking for some cruisy runs perfecting your skills. Half-day lift rates apply until all lifts open.
The Porters family is a large one, and we like to think that Porters is a welcoming place for any family wanting to experience some enjoyment on the snow. This is why we created the ‘Family learn-to-slide’ beginner ski or snowboard package. Just like our individual packages, our family package offers a discounted rate on lift access, equipment hire, and lessons, packaged up at a $190 for the whole family. This deal is good for the entire immediate family, so the price is the same if you have more than 2 youths. You can also add an afternoon lesson for just an extra $20 per person – what a deal! Check it out here for full info and details, and pass it on to a novice snow family today!
Hopefully by now you’re all up with the play – add #skiporters to your image posts via facebook and instagram and you’re in to win! This week’s prize is a Porters beanie and the lucky winner is @earldanbaua. Congratulations, touch base with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get this prize to you.
A reminder to all intermediate or advanced female skiers and riders - our annual Women’s Workshop Weekend is coming up on the 16/17 August. The weekend offers a progressive, enjoyable and diverse training experience packed full of fun. Four hours of coaching each day, wind-down yoga session, intro to snow safety and back-country travel, with meals and accommodation (Saturday night) included. Pre-registrations are essential - for more info and to sign up now, click here.
That’s all from us here this week, keep doing those snow dances and hopefully the snow-gods will answer our calls! You can keep in touch with the weather conditions, webcams, and full snow report right here.
