The End of Season is approaching!

It is mid-September and the snow keeps falling- another 20cm of snow in the last couple of days has given us superb winter skiing conditions in springtime. While it is blustery and cloudy in the city, up here we have clear skies and the best tail-end of a season we have seen in a very long time.

The last day of this great 2015 season will be October 4th. There is no better way to spend the first part of the school holidays – a quick easy drive up the hill and some brilliant skiing in the sun mixed with a delicious hot chocolate and cinnamon scroll means happy tired kids at the end of the day!

Don’t miss out – there is just 2 weeks to go but every day is shaping up as a real bonus for skiers and boarders alike.

We have enjoyed some awesome events this year- the McNulty’s Supercross, held a weekend ago, was a great success - so much so that next year we plan to make it bigger and better. Last Sunday, lots of happy people enjoyed a traditional Oktoberfest platter lunch of pretzels, sauerkraut and sausages served on the terrace of Porters Cafe by our gorgeous staff dressed for the part. It has to be one of our favourite days of the season.

On September 27th the last event of the season will be Retro Day. It was postponed from this weekend, although a few fluro one-pieces and long skinny skies were spotted anyway. Come up – there will be a small kid’s session on the same day with spot prizes.

And remember……if the weather is looking a bit drizzly and dreary this spring in Christchurch, chances are it is a clear day here in the mountains- so, escape that easterly by checking out our webcam
