Mountain Improvments
In recent years, we've completed a wide range of development and maintenance initiatives that have noticeably improved the Porters experiece.
Over the summer period, our snowmaking capacity has been increased, new rental equipment has been purchased, along with the installation of extra boot drying facilities, ensuring our rental equipment is warm and dry each morning and ready to go.
We've also widened key trails, and installed more wind fencing to assist in catching snow and maintaining the snow base. Additionally, an extensive maintenance programme has been implemented.
The recent addition of a winch groomer makes it easier for our groomer operators to deliver high quality groomed 'piste' terrain for you to enjoy, as well as assisting in grooming areas we previously could not reach.
Behind the scenes, a lot of time and effort continues on the Porters Master Development Plan, focusing on gaining consents and approvals for lift and facility expansion at Porters. More information will be available leading to and during winter 2010, though you can read more about the Porters Project here.
