Ski Instructor Internship

Back by popular demand. Following the success of last year's Rookie Instructor training internship, we will be offering it again for the 2018 season. We are offering a rare opportunity for a select few to gain the most direct way into the ski school Industry. With the maximum of 6 students and an intense block of training with Jase who is managing Porters ski school and owner/operator of NZSIT. You will quickly develop the skills to become a quality ski instructor. Jase has been training Instructors here for the past 15 years obtaining some of the highest pass rates in the country. Jase recons the secret is the one off small group along with the welcoming and positive environment provided by the ski school. “We are all like one big family here at Porters, we are always encouraging and helping each other out”. This will include personal ski development, demo turns, skier analysis, lesson progressions and much more. You will also get the chance to work alongside other instructors and take some of your own lessons within our ski school which will give you all the confidence in the world and help set you up to take your highly recognised NZSIA level 1 exam.

Once qualified to level 1 NZSIA or you meet the required standard you will have the opportunity to attain paid employment as part of the Porters ski school for the season. At the end of the season there is the option to take your NZSIA level 2 exam. With the NZSIA qualifications and a season teaching under your belt you will be in a great position for seeking work in the Northern hemispheres up and coming winter. Jase will be on hand to assist you in finding a job and has extensive connections around the world.
