Kids Camp

Our Kids Camp is designed to let the youngest members of the family have fun on the snow! The package is aimed at children age 3-5 years old and includes a 2-hour session on the snow with our qualified instructors, a beginners lift pass and rental equipment (skis, boots and poles) for just $49.

You're welcome to watch them gain their confidence on skis, or use the time to explore the rest of the mountain for yourselves - it's up to you!

Help to plan your day

We're committed to making your family's day on the mountain an enjoyable one. Here are some tips to help keep you warm, safe and comfortable during your day!

Layers & Clothing

It's important to stay warm in the mountains. Wear lots of loose, warm layers so you can add or remove any as the day goes on.

Sunglasses / Goggles

Good quality sunglasses or goggles are important to protect your eyes from the sun, wind and cold. You can buy or hire goggles from Guest Services when you get here.

Gloves / Mittens

Protect your hands with warm and waterproof gloves or mittens. Both are available to buy in our shop if you forget yours!

Rental Equipment

As well as skis, snowboards and boots, we also have helmets and a limited range of ski pants and jackets to hire. Just ask the team in Guest Services when you arrive.

Our café is a great place to warm up or sit back and watch other skiers, and offers a daily changing menu of delicious, quality food.

We have free parking available right next to the lift, just a short walk to Guest Services, rental and café. Arrive early to get a good space!

Find Us

We’re only 89km from Christchurch Airport; just over an hour in the car along the Great Alpine Highway.

Simply take Highway 73 heading west from Christchurch, and it’s an easy, predominantly straight drive to Porters. You’ll pass through the small country townships of Darfield, Sheffield and Springfield, which is our base village and is the last stop to get petrol before you head up.

From Springfield, you head through the Porters Pass, past Lake Lyndon, and we are well sign-posted on the left side of the road.

We offer a free mountain road shuttle on weekends, during the July school holidays and on days when chains are required.
