Porters Snow Sports School offers a number of multi day skills improvement programmes, from freeriding to racing and everything in between. Our Snow Sports instruction programmes are designed to help young skiers develop their skills and take their skiing to the next level in a safe and fun environment. Participants are divided into groups according to age and ability.
Porters Training Programmes have 2 sessions each day.
Morning Session: 9 - 10.30 AM
Afternoon Session: 12.30 – 2 PM

Junior Ski Improvement (age 5 -10 years)
For the little ones who want to show the world how to do it. Learning to progress their skills in a fun group environment. Maximum group size 8 people.
Minimum standard: intermediate skiing, confident on the platter lift and linking turns.
Ski Improvement Training (age 12 - 16 years)
This programme is focused on free-skiing rather than racing. The structured, progressive group training environment is a fantastic way to improve skiing skills while having fun at the same time! Max. group size, 8 people.
Minimum standard: parallel turns
Porters Freeride Team (age 10 - 16 years) The freeride programme is designed for free-skiers looking to develop their big mountain and freestyle skills over the course of the season. Groups are limited to 8 people per group with top international freeride coaches.
Minimum standard: can ride all lifts and competent ski paralell on and off piste
Porters Junior Race Team (age 5 - 12 years)
This is an entry level race training scheme designed to bring the most out of your skiing ability, with a focus on racing. As well as learning to race gates, a big proportion of the programme concentrates on improving ski technique. Significant focus is given to preparing racers for local and regional race events, via brush and live gate training. Junior Race Team is often split into two age groups, depending on demand.
Minimum standard: linking parallel turns and an interest in ski racing and progressing all-round skiing.
- A minimum of six participants per group are required for the programme to go ahead. If any programme lacks the numbers to go ahead, you will be advised and refunded in full.
- In the event that the ski area is closed on a day where there is a programme session scheduled, a contingency day will be used to make up the sessions. If a holiday programme day is missed, the contingency will be on the next available scheduled Sunday programme date (i.e. 22nd July 2018). Contingency days for Sunday programmes are the 16th and 23rd September. Contingency days are offered only in the event the ski area is closed, not due to no-shows on an open day.
