Porters is the closest ski area to Christchurch and caters for all abilities of skier and snowboarder.
Porters offers something different; our focus is on offering a quality experience for all, whether it's your first time on snow or you're a total expert.
If you've never skied before, we have a designated area for you to learn and progress. If you're used to skiing and riding across all terrain, there is still plenty to explore!
Trails & Lifts
Whatever your ability, you’ll feel right at home at Porters. We’ve got gentle runs and easy lifts for beginners and kids, long cruising runs for the intermediates and super challenging terrain for advanced skiers and riders. Getting Here
Porters is a little more than an hour’s easy driving from the Christchurch Airport. Once you get here, it’s all good – our access road is in tip-top shape; it’s one of the easiest in the country.
Mountain Safety
At Porters, we take safety on the mountain extremely seriously. We're all here to have fun in the snow, but we ask you to always respect closures, our ski patrol team and other skiers and boarders on the mountain. Cafe & Facilities
One thing that never changes around here is our local hospitality. It’s something our regulars love most about us, and there is nowhere better to relax with friends and family after a fun day on the snow.

With a focus on fun, the park team are looking to offer something for all members of the family – whether you’re just starting in the park, or you’ve been doing it a while, you’ll have fun here!
